Sponsor Spotlight: Baby Babu *Review*

I am excited to bring to you a new brand of cloth diapers

Joe from Baby Babu was kind enough to send me the Ruff Ruff print which we immediately fell in love with.   I barely had it open and Maggie kept trying to steal it because she loves dogs so much!  Joe is also being very generous and offering 2 of my fabulous readers a chance to win one of their diapers!

About Baby Babu
Founded in Melbourne, Florida by Joe and Hope, the parents of twin boys, Baby Babu's goals are to provide high quality, sustainable and affordable diapering solutions and related products to parents worldwide.  Baby Babu also strives to provide the highest degree of customer service and the highest quality products available.
Not only does Baby Babu offer cloth diapers and accessories, but they also carry biodegradable, hypoallergenic, chemical - free disposable diapers as well.
About the diaper
The doggy cloth pocket diaper comes with a 3 layer super absorbant insert, waterproof PUL cover, adjustable snaps for sizing from 8-35+ pounds, double gussets and two pocket openings.
All Baby Babu pocket diapers come with TWO openings to stuff the inner pocket.  Two openings allow the insert to agitate itself out in the wash, keeping mom and dad from having to pull out a dirty insert.  Each diaper wing has 3 button snaps to ensure a secure but comfortable fit.  The double leg gussets help prevent leaks and blowouts!

Notice the tongue hanging out the dogs mouth :)

Maggie did not want me taking pictures, she wanted to play with it.  The diaper came with 2 inserts!

My experience with Baby Babu Pocket Diapers
This has quickly become a favorite in our house!  First off, we love the print.  Dogs are always a big hit with my daughter.  Not only is the dog adorable, it has a little tongue hanging out of its mouth which Maggie thinks  is hilarious.  She actually talks to this diaper, that's how much she loves it.

The first feature I love is the double gussets to contain messes.  The dog is sewn into only the outer layer of the PUL, not the inner layer, so there is no worry that it will leak from that.  I like the two pocket openings so the diaper can agitate itself out in the wash and that the insert snaps in.  This is especially nice at night because it seems to me the inserts tend to shift during the night in most diapers.  I love the soft inside of the diaper.

Can we say adorable?                            Back pocket opening
Great fit all around - no gaps
                                              Very snug fit

Front pocket opening where insert is able to be snapped in

The wings on this diaper are shorter than most, for some reason, I love this feature.  It seems to ensure a tighter fit every single time I put this diaper on her.  The elastic on the Baby Babu is very gentle and leaves no red marks.  The snap to ensure a snug thigh fit is a great feature as well.

What I would change about the Baby Babu diaper
Not much at all really.  I love love love this diaper.  The insert comes unsnapped in the wash, which is fine, but I wish it would stay snapped in so I don't have to search for the right insert when I stuff diapers.  The pocket openings on this diaper are somewhat small which doesn't present a problem for me, but may for some.  The elastic on the back opening is very stretchy though, so shouldn't present a problem.

I would recommend this diaper to anybody.  Not only is the Baby Babu super adorable, but it works great, never leaks and is very affordable.

Sponsor Spotlight: Awesome Blossom *Review*

I am so excited to present to another another one of my fabulous Mother's Day sponsors
Sue from Awesome Blossom was kind enough to send me one of their diapers in Fantastic Yellow!  What a vibrant happy color and I am excited to share my experience with this diaper with all of you!

About Awesome Blossom

Awesome Blossom Diapers is a WAHM operated business located in the U. S. and the Awesome diapers are fairly made in China.  The handmade fitted diapers and trainers are made by The Eli Monster company which is a WAHM owned company based in the USA. They ship incredibly fast!

About the Diaper

The Awesome Blossom diaper fits from 9-35+ pounds.  Every diaper comes with one insert made from 3 layers of microfiber terry cloth.   Awesome Blossom diapers are made with 100 % polyester knit exterior with a thin, flexible waterproof polyurethane laminate on the inside (PUL).  This hidden waterproof film keeps moisture from leaking out, yet still allows air flow to baby's skin and allows the fabric to feel nice and soft on the outside.

The inside of  the diapers are lined with soft fleece, which is gentle against baby's skin and feels dry since moisture is pulled through into the pocket by the microfiber inserts.

With the 2 layers of snaps to adjust the size in the waist and legs, it's easy to get the perfect fit on these diapers.  The extra crossover snaps help with an extra small fitting for those tiny little waists.  With 3 rows of snaps, there is lots of room to grow in these diapers.

My Experience with Awesome Blossom Diapers
I immediately loved this diaper because of the vibrant yellow color!  It is a great neutral color that both of our babes will be able to wear proudly.

I really like the four snap options to get the right fit on the legs. I also really like the crossover tabs for two reasons.  One - if you are out and about and can't shake the stinkies into the toilet, you can wrap the diaper up tight and not get a fun surprise when you dig it out of the wetbag later.  Two, it fits tiny little waists better because it can get a more snug fit.

Such a great fit!  This is probably the only time she has just sat there so I could take pictures!

The leg holes on this diaper do get small enough that I think they would be able to stay tight around a smaller babies legs.

The elastic on the Awesome Blossom is very gentle.  The pocket opening in the back of the diaper is somewhat small, but the elastic expands very easily and I had no trouble stuffing this diaper at all.  The elastic at the back of the opening also keeps the insert in place so that the stinkies don't get on it.
I really like the PUL on this diaper - it's softer and stretchier than many diapers I have used. We were able to get a great fit the first time and every time.  There are some diapers I have used where it takes a few tries to get the right fit, but not this one.  This combined with the soft fleece on the inside make this diaper very lightweight and very breathable.

What I would change
I know I say this a lot, but I wish it came with a bamboo insert, but that is a personal preference.  I just love bamboo!  Awesome blossom diapers only come in snaps, which is great with me, but may be a problem for some people. The tabs do tend to curl up when she is wearing the diaper sometimes.  This doesn't affect the use or effectiveness of the diaper, just something I noticed.

I would definitely recommend this diaper to anybody!  Not only is this a fantastic diaper, but the price is very affordable.  They can also be purchased in packs with color coordinated diapers or in multi packs of 12, 24, or 36.

  • Waterproof flaps over both pocket openings

My Opinion

Adorable!!!  We got the butterfly print and love it.  This diaper is very easy to use and get a great fit.  We did experience a leak the very first time we used it.  I'm not sure why we did, but that was the only time that happened.   My favorite feature of this diaper is the price!  How can it not be.  These are very affordable diapers.  I love that the insert agitates out in the wash.  I have a few snap in inserts on diapers and it has rapidly become one of my favorite features.  On this diaper though the insert does come unsnapped during the wash cycle and agitates out completely.  This means it definitely gets very clean, however, it also means I have to find the right insert to stuff it again.  Not a big deal at all, but something I did notice.  The waterproof flaps over both openings ensure the mess stays out of the pockets for easier cleanup.

I love the adorable print packages and the spectrum colors.  I am very excited to try this diaper out on my baby when he or she is born in a few months to see how well the crossover snaps work to fit on the newborn baby.  The double rows of snaps with the square tabs to create a very snug fit all around the waist.  I love the colored snaps that match the cuteness of the diaper.   This is one of the trimmest diapers we own and I love that.  The edges of the tabs do tend to curl up a bit for some reason.

What I would change

I really wish the inserts stayed snapped in.  That just makes it that much quicker when I am folding and stuffing the diapers if I don't have to find the insert.  While I like that the diapers are sold in packages of 6 or 12, I wish that I could buy just one.  Usually when I have (want) to purchase diapers, it's only one or two at a time so it costs less.  I do however think this is a great feature for new mother's just starting their stash of cloth diapers.    That being said...I love this diaper.  These two things are just personal preferences and neither of them affects the functionality of the diaper.

I would recommend Glow Bug Cloth Diapers.  They are super affordable, absolutely adorable and work fantastic.  If you only want to try one before committing, you are going to have to win one, so stay tuned!

Sponsor Spotlight: Jack Be Natural and Go Green Champ 2.0 *Review*

I am excited to introduce you to another one of my fabulous Mother's Day Cloth Diaper Giveaway sponsors

Jack Be Natural was kind enough to send me a Go Green Champ 2.0 Diaper to review. We choose the lipstick love print.  I was very excited.  I've seen a lot of reviews on this diaper, but haven't had the chance to try one out for myself.  And...it came in a cute little Jack's Napsack which my daughter has stolen from me already.

About Jack Be Natural
As a middle class family of four and aspiring entrepeneurs who are obsessed with their children's health and well being, Stacy and John make a conscious effort to use natural and / or organic products while still taking the time to learn what is safe and what isn't.  Combining their passion for what is natural and their entrepeneurial spirit resulted in Jack Be Natural.  Their mantra:  educate other parents on the advantages of natural baby products while offering them at fair and affordable prices.  This allowed them to fulfill their dream of owning a business.

About the Go Green Champ 2.0 Pocket Diaper

  • Available in fuzzy or silky leakproof exterior
  • Soft suedecloth lining
  • Dual gussets
  • Dual pocket openings
  • Hip snaps
  • Front pocket cover made from PUL to prevent wicking
  • Back pocket opening cover
  • Snap in insert made from 3 layers of microfiber
  • Made in the USA
  • Fits newborn - 45+ pounds
My Opinion
This diaper worked really well for us.  First off, I LOVE minky fabric.  It's so soft, and the lipstick love print is so cute!  We wanted the tiger, but they were out.  If we have a boy now, he may not love the lipstick love but he will be wearing it!  I really like the suedecloth lining.  I have noticed that it doesn't seem to pill as much as some of the fabrics, plus it is more lightweight which I like because it gets very hot here sometimes!
I love dual gussets on pretty much any diaper.  We have never had a problem with messy diapers getting out, but these are sure to prevent that.  *One of daddy's favorite features*
Dual gussets, suedecloth lining and pocket covers.  The elastic is pulled together a little tighter at the back of the waist making for a very snug fit.
The snap in insert is very absorbent.  I love that the insert snaps in and this one stays snapped during the wash and dry cycles, but still agitates out to get clean.  This was nice because it meant no searching for the right insert when stuffing my pocket diapers.  This also meant no need to unstuff prior to washing.  A big plus in my book!  I don't like touching a wet or poopy insert to pull it out prior to washing.  This diaper also has a front and back cover over the pocket openings on both ends which helps keep the messes from getting inside the pocket.
No gapping at the back
No gapping on the legs
Nice tight fit.

The tabs on the Go Green Champ 2.0 are more square than most diapers I have used.  This helped to get a very snug fit around her waist.  There are also hip snaps on this diaper to keep the sides in place. The elastic in the back of the diaper is a little tighter than I have seen on other diapers, but when I put this diaper on her, it ensures a very snug fit every single time.

I am curious how this diaper will fit the baby.  I am always leery of one size diapers for newborns because they seem so bulky.  This diaper gets small enough, but I am wondering if the leg holes get small enough, but it does have cross over tabs so I think it will fit alright around the waist.  The diaper looks like it should fit a larger kid.  Maggie is 20 pounds and still is on the 2nd smallest setting, so she has tons of room to grow.

What I would change
I wish this diaper came with a bamboo insert instead of microfiber, but that's a personal preference for me.

I would recommend the Go Green Champ 2.0.  It fit our daughter well and did not leak.  For overnights, I would use another insert.  We had it on her for 4 hours and it was still holding up pretty good, but I don't think it would make it through the night.   Plus at only $15.95 each, the Go Green Champ 2.0 is very affordable.
